Over

Tenderly you touch my skin,
your eyes all big and moist.

These last encounters hurt us both,
but they were an easy choice.

The trees outside once full and green,
have crippled and turned brown.

No longer gold with happy glow,
but broken like your frown.

Very gently you kiss my lips,
pulling at my heart.

An arrow pierces what we were,
so different from the start.

Your tongue toys with my ears,
reminds me what I’m losing.

Playing with you made the happiest days,
but now they’ll be spent bruising.
