ALONE

To myself

ALONE

Alone I am together with a myriad of thoughts,
All are mine to mull over even if they matter but naught.
Alone, I can fathom into my abyss to ponder the deepest of worry,
Or just ignore those not needing resolution in a relative hurry.
Alone in my head are places only I can enter,
Some so covert and unsettled you are glad nobody else can get there.
Alone I can balance failures and shortcomings,
One cannot hide from the truths that are inescapably forthcoming.
Alone I can gather the resolve to be better by measure,
So I can repair my damaged soul and regain a renewed sense of pleasure.
Alone I purvey a thousand secrets held deep,
Some I am proud of, some not and some I wish I did not have to keep.
Alone I can dream of my most secret of wishes,
Either fantasy or real but kept private in their own special niches.
Alone can be more complicated than a sea of new faces,
You are fully exposed and cannot hide from those unwanted places.
