Tears

Carefully, slowly, quietly the tears roll down her cheeks
The worries and fears of yesterday, returning,
Reminding her of what she’s lost

Children laughing, playing
Carefree, outside her bedroom window

And yet she seeks the answer
of how to carry on

No friends to help her through the mess
No family that would care
No one at all around to see
Her open, vacant stare

And still the tears carry on
turning from salt to blood

The slow, painful death
Just another gift from this mournful hell

But then the reminder of happy times,
the lingering taste of farewell dreams,
and laughter with Mat bourn friends
creep into her demure of screams

For what is lost today
is yet to be acquiered tomorrow
And so her long lost smile returns
to make alight her pretty face
