I spent the day wondering about you and hoping that you’d be wondering about me too
I spent the evening next to you on our cigarette break we took together
Even though we’d get in trouble if our bosses knew
I spent the next few hours waiting for your text
You told me you’d call me but I had to initiate the conversation
We made plans and you canceled but we rescheduled for tomorrow
I’m still wishing that you’ll follow through
You usually don’t
And it hurts more every damn time
I spent the night drinking alone
Chain smoking alone and feeling rather shit alone
I spent the early dark hours of the morning
Puking from the poison I filled my body with
And then I turned on the shower and
Drained the sweat away
Maybe I’ll forget about you some other day
