My Only Wish

I wish I had someone to ask “how you felt today”,
a third little hand that I can hold when it rains,
a promise that kept me alive.
I wish I had someone to miss during night and day,
a tiny little smile to remember when I pray,
a reason to wake up at five,
Somebody to wonder “where are you?” when night has fallen,
a bright-light person to stare again and again.
A reason to wish everything stopped while Time was crawling,
a pair of wandering eyes that told me “nothing was in vain”.
I wish I had someone to start a trip around the world,
to seek on every corner until finding her soul,
and entangle my fingers in her hair until it is curled
to climb her heart and claim I found my goal.
I wish I had someone to take to the confines of Earth, where the wind never blew,
and to hug you til your shadows, under the sky so blue,
I wish I had a way to dive with you below the sea, and sing a song called “New”,
I wish I had a partner, I wish I had you.
