Scattered parts of me lie
in a place I call
–home
They fill me
a sea of memories,
They blossom
a garden of hope.
In the cold sand
between my toes,
and the sweet smell
of petrichor.
In silent giggles and secret lores,
hidden corners and loud corridors.
In stark white buildings, school bus rides
broken friendships drowned in my pride.
Take me back, I cry.
Take me back, I beg.
Don’t leave me behind,
Greet me like an old friend.
Piece me back together
in the place I belong
