For Italy and Philosophy

A moment of operatic tenor

In echoes of old memories I call,
To friends of days when opera’s sweet thrall,
Enchanted us in Italy’s embrace,
As timeless melodies filled every space.

Through cobblestone streets of ancient Rome we’d tread,
With laughter and discussions widely spread,
Philosophy’s debates, both deep and light,
Illumined by the city’s vibrant night.

Recalling nights under Italian skies,
The opera’s grace and friends’ insightful cries,
In iambic pentameter I weave,
The essence of those moments we’d believe.

So let us reminisce, my friend, anew,
On opera’s notes and philosophic view,
In friendship’s timeless bond, we still connect,
Through memories cherished, we reflect.

I tried to recall and old memory of walking in Rome with friends
