Quake beneath my soft tissue
tectonic passes at the good china
warm like stray memories
gargled then regretted
make excuse out of olive branch
costumed roses, those thorny gestures
call back the chivalry not
pleasant so much as cavalier
I don’t hold open any doors
I found
etiquette to be just a
rich mans morality
but we’re not
not opera
not cathedral
at your inscrutable
command like milled limestone and
personal mythologies
