Beneath the faded colors you find what lies beneath.
I learned to paint with tears
So I could fake a clear blue sky
It could hide away my fears
I could escape and soar high
Far from self-loathing
Far from unknown why’s
Far from ever knowing
Far from wanting to die
I wouldn’t never question a picture of its story
Let it tell itself
There is no shame in redeeming glory
And bring out your internal hell
The truth a simple image can give
Is what an artist could deny
To save their own guilty will to live
But remember the painting never lies
