Dryhten

2007

Midnight task, I think about my life
Midgard Oracle, spoken new tunes
Mid-October Gold in a honey hive
Im back to Munich to decipher runes

Now I toss my pen
and drink more fluid
oh I could break my chin
and then re-glue it

Megaphone drone, I tremble his voice
hold my hand, penguin, Im drenched
Boon, victim, Ive never had the choice
to hold on to you, my fists were clenched.

Now I snip my straw
and drop my wrath
like my claw to cut you open
in your stuffy bath

Passive Aggressive, I surprise myself
Progressive Beats now Im shattered
A hungry star is crying on my shelf
and nothing else ever more has mattered

Now Im a sleepy willow
with business ahead
so I grab my purple pillow
and confide to it my head

Lukewarm Infancy
A reunion after three years
Tibetan songs in the sunny fire
I can remember the honey fears
that made me come here from my shire

So now I return to the roots
and I did notice his gaze
while I m cutting mature shoots
in a blue-red chequered maze

With a versatile smile
I conquer the room
I dig up a missed tile
and describe my gloom

What an interesting intercourse
Y woot not what thou seist!
Long time ago with full force
Ive been disowned and disgraced

Three years have come and gone
and I find myself renovated
another lifecycle has begun
and Im all but overrated

His tall brown eyes and our memories
of tallying rejection
Through east-west rows on cemetaries
I crawled with my infection

Where Zephir blows away my woes,
archaeophile friends surface
Archives introduce me to tonic prose,
and I follow the covered trace

To Pannonia fields, that call to arms
for detox on vernal equinox
I aspire to lovesick charms
and splash with honey-sweet flying fox.
