Religion makes devils of us all.

Pain puts things into perspective.

“In the beginning...” we asked ourselves
“Who we are, where we are and why we are here”
and we invented gods.
Now we still ask the same questions
and invent radio telescopes.

Love is as a flower.
We may never see its progression
but to perceive its maturity
is always an inspiration.

Racism is based on color
but those that are racist
are blind.

If we searched ourselves
for as long as we search
for another
we’d be as perfects as they
seem to be.

We do in dreams what we have
tried to do all day long.
Perhaps the night is a means
to conquer the day.

As long as there are politicians
there will be poets,
for poets say what politicians
would like to say
if they had the vision
and the guts.

In the great drama of life
we find that god was simply man
masquerading.

It is most unfortunate
that it is only after
men and women have died to tell us something
that we listen.
We kill them for what they say
then live by their words.
