Be your own mentor

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
way passed our social being and cool
let me see the you only your pillow knows
let me know your thoughts not what your face shows
show me the emotions you show to your mirror
let me wipe the tears in your shower

I know there’s more going on with you
cause I’ve been there too
that public image that don’t match the real you
all the pretending and hiding what you go through
the best way is to let it out
even if you trust feelings are full of doubt

Many times we hide our hurt
put on makeup and our mini skirt
we walk around like our happiness is permanent
having everyone feel our life is decent

If they only knew that our skies aren’t blue
our moments of peace are real few
or maybe the smiles we share are fake
like our hair and appearance, our huge number of heartaches
maybe then they would only deal with us for Christ sake
pity would be their greatest friend
and plead to God that this friendship end

Cause really no one cares about others than themselves
no one wanna hear our stories or wipe our tears
they would just sit towards you
with a sad posture and a meaningless stare

The person I’ve been telling all this is really me
beneath my beautiful i would wanna see
I’ll wipe my own tears in my shower
and record the emotions i portray in my mirror

I will show me, me
and God can help my problems flee
i would never let myself down
cause i for sure don’t look good with a frown

I would make my own comments
then put up a personal defense
cause others only will listen when they can benefit from your presence.
