Yesterday the sun came up and everything was fine,

it was perfect,

no pain, not even one lie.

Today the sun rises,

and she cover her eyes.

To hide in the darkness,

to avoid all his lies.

She saw him the day before,

swearing up and down he loves her.

It’s hard to believe this was true.

Last night,

she wanted to surprise him.

Hoping he’d be happy to see his 'love’.

But when she arrived,

she heard a noise from inside.

Her heart fell to her stomach,

as she headed inside.

She went upstairs and followed the noise.

His gift in her hands,

she opened his door,

just a crack,

and froze in place.

Tears started to fall as this girl touched the one she loved.

She looked down at the floor,

hoping this was a nightmare.

But when she looked up again,

she heard words she never wished he’d said.

“I love you, I love you” was all she heard.

She had enough.

She opened the door and made sure he saw,

the ring he gave her hit the wall.

She screamed her heart out,

swearing she was done.

He got up to stop her,

with anger and pain in his eyes.

He tried to grab her arm,

but she just shoved him away.

“You lied! You said you loved me!

You promised just me and you forever!

Now it’s over.

Tears will fall.

Either mine or yours.”

As she was walking away,

she heard the other girl say,

“He was mine in the beginning and now he’ll be mine til the end.”

She closed her eyes,

and her heart was still shattering.

She felt the pain,

she felt it break.

Now,

She regretted getting to close,

trusting him.

But she made up her mind,

she filled her heart with hate,

cause,

Loving him was her biggest mistake.
