Loss

Tribute to My cousin Chathra R.I.P

Like a bullet searing through my heart
The death of you exploded my soul

Oceans and mountains kept us apart
Yet I felt your presence making me whole

Crackling flames licked hungrily at your flesh
Warm tears of tragedy rushed down my face

Red tongue of fire took you away
leaving your grey ashes behind
Drawing my ache on, like an unsolved case

Moving on with my life was a challenge
But visiting your home made me cry again

Remembering the burning killer
forced me to hate with revenge

Making my heart fall into pieces in pain
the cruelty of flames burnt him away

But i know his spirit  and his memories
will never leave me in anyway....

(2007)

This is one of the first poems i wrote, i was only 15 i had to write o poem of love or loss for school. I didn't know what to write. So when i sat down to write there's was one thing in my life that really affected me was the loss of my cousin when i was 12, he had an unfortunate death 70% of his body got burnt. He was a very special cousin though we didn't live in the same country he was my big brother who i lost to early. It was only when i wrote this poem my family members and school teacher knew i had a talent to write poems but it was only written when i have feeling that are deep and real.
