Don't need the tree
It was months before Christmas
and all through this land
the hatchets were chopping
as fast as they can.
The pines, the spruce, they all are the same
there’s plenty more
wherever they came.
Onto the trucks they were stacked and tied
and once again their lives were denied.
All people then gathered
with a magical force
all singing and chanting
without no remorse.
That day finally came with gifts and delight,
but tomorrow came with a terrible sight.
You say you recycle, but it’s out to the street
thrown out with the trash
and soon to be ash.
Before you go out and squander your cash
ask yourself
will this be the last .
