Valentine’s Day Present for the one I lost

written by Edward A . Storm

These wild stealth and thunder horses
Pace loops longer than a thousand miles of grass and Earth,
Where no cement and gravel and black top can go,
My horses of stealth and thunder they go.
They move but nothing like those engines made by men,
Engines that always come to sit still and rust to nothing
On broken cement and concrete and brick,
Engines that have labels that are complete lies
They cannot even have one true horsepower,
Never measure a machine by the speed of heart and flesh.
God’s horses they go stealth with their shiny coats of black
In the windy night of black but remember
That they do not hunt,
At least food they do not hunt.
But they stampede mad for miles across the dark blue planes.
The horses belong to God but even God I don’t think
Can sit on top the back and use him like a slave.
Make an unbreakable loop out of unbreakable rope using magic,
These wild beasts will not submit to the magic
They will have their legs be crushed and broken to little pieces
By nothing more than their own immense anger and rage
On the attempt to be made another’s belonging
But my mad and agitated horses of thunder
With shining chests cannot stop pacing
The long and sad summer nights of heat lightning and storm Lightning,
They stalk.
They pace more,
They will pounce when the first warm rain drop finally touches summer Earth.
I think that they are very much like me though,
Inside of them is the soul of a man ghostly who has lost his one true love?
