Like leaves in autumn, I fall
The adjournment of an astronomical flight
But safe in the rocket for too long
I step out and sink into the earth
The atmosphere a crushing weight on my shoulders
Following footsteps, I retreat to a cave
Empty for a moment
But tidal thoughts suddenly surge, with demons hiding in the swell
Frigid waters push and pull.
Light fades as I watch the surface rise.
Too weary to swim,
I take a pacific breath
Eager to wake up in the sky
