Now I Scream Daddy

I was my daddy’s little girl
In the living room we used to dance and twirl
Laughing every day, and telling stories every night
Hugs at the end of every fight
His shoulders were the highest place on earth
To me he was the only thing that had any worth
One day he said he had to go
I waited at the door for him to come home
Everyday I asked my mom “when’s daddy coming back?”
All she would do was cry and put his stuff in his pack
I am older and now I understand
My daddy didn’t have to leave, he chose to do that
Now with his all new daughter and his new wife
He has made himself a much happier life
And now I have nothing but a broken family
But every night I wake up screaming and crying “Daddy!”
