Cosmic Idleness (Final Take)

Cosmic Idleness is what I need
An Idleness like matter at rest
Causing the universe to stop
Halting those tricks of physics
That thrill and bend the mind.

Letting me view it through a microscope
Discovering what is almost never seen
Studied like those Monarch butterflies
or a transcendent flower’s bud in bloom.
Revealing proof of the world’s perfection.

Those tricks always make me smile,
But more so, when like a universal
Merry-go-round, I can, like a child,
Climb on board for another ride
to travel in amazing realms of joy.

I need this wondrous cosmic vacuum
that clears all the static from the mind
And, with a shortcut, a connection
Straight and translucent to my soul
bypassing the mundane noise of daily life.

Primordial solitude, where reality goes on forever
Growing outwards like infinite space.
Unveiling all that is, so clear to see
And with it, as in a dream, unity
As that expansion reshapes the mind.
