The Sorrow

You tore out my heart, and strewn
Across the floor, away from you
It fell, here and there, scattered
Along with the dreams, forever shattered.

But to you it doesn’t matter, it didn’t matter, I don’t matter.

The first glimpse of life without fear
But now you’re not here, I can’t see clear
The clawing pain, that grips me tightly
Not one can see, but wonder slightly
How is she coping? Not very well
How do you know? For she won’t tell

Yet the dreams revel in aching despair
I reach out, but you’re no longer there
My heart cries out, that I love you
But only in my dreams, do you whisper you love me too.
