What was I supposed to say, when all you could say was goodbye?
Left completely speechless, I had high hopes that my eyes would make it clear that I needed you to stay.
I could see it on your face that you didn’t want to leave, but you still let me go.
As much as I wanted to beg, I felt sick at the thought of trying to make any words.
You said that you couldn’t stay with me any longer, to you it no longer felt right.
Maybe I should’ve forced out something that would have changed your mind, because now all I have is the thought of you constantly running across mine.
