Momma was right

Momma was right about the guys in this world,
They take you for granted and use you as a shield,
They bend you and break you and rip out your heart,
Momma was right about the men in the dark,
Grew up learning the words she spoke,
Taught me all I’ve grown to know,
Never listened to her when she said he was bad,
But fairytales aren’t real in the unfair end,
Momma was right when she said I’d get hurt,
No faith in her bold, authentically wise words,
She proved me wrong like she always does,
Her magic, a mystery to all of us.
