It’s just a few pencil scratches
On a piece of ordinary paper
Creating words that came from
My heart
They’re just words
Saying things that I could never
Say to you
In person
They’re just thoughts and memories
I’ve shared with you
And have thought about you
They’re just memories that’ll make me smile
And cry
They’re just tears that have fallen
Many times
For you
Those pencil scratches formed something that would have stayed with you
Forever
To me, those pencil scratches were everything.
Thoughts, memories, tears, smiles, accusations, apologies, love.
To others,
It would just been a piece of paper
With pencil scratches.

What is Underneath

These web of band-aids that I kee… Cannot erase what is underneath. Underneath is a web of streaks That drip blood, it’s pain it shri… The stories that remained untold
