Shattered
A poem about how one must survive despite the horrors of love.
Slivers of my soul
Lie scattered
Embedded in the hearts
Of those I have loved
Those who have broken me
Floating, weightless
In an arctic ocean
A glacier filled abyss
Of frozen affection
Scarred and broken
My scars have come alive
Torn open once more
As my heart breaks
From love unreturned
Life seems so bleak
But I stand
And I stitch
Myself back together
In hopes that
No one will hurt me
