Cliche’ No Longer

rewrite of Cliche' No Longer

Once burned, it hurts to say the rest.
To have and to hold. Got to get this off my chest.
Can’t deny it. Yeah, I have regrets.
I ignored her needs, Wow! It’s MY FAULT that she left.

Step by step, still a long way to go.
Deserted on my island, self dug rut starting to show.
Checked out self help books, meditated, found my zen.
Preparing my heart, to try at love again.

Priorities straight, humble heart anew,
anxious to proceed worries bid adieu.
Put others first, respect loves power,
react without greed, old ways begin to cower.
When again love visits, Thank you God that glorious day,
Happy endings in store, no longer cliche’.
