rain
nature's downpour
mother nature bestows upon us everything
she gives us the gift of light
the gift of land
the gift of freedom
as long as there’s nature, as long as we’re free
we’ll be united
we’ll all be together
but as society builds
skyscrapers and towers taking over our sun
ran by greed and superiority
there is no purpose for the mother
as the strings of the earth tear against the will of the earth
birdsong turns into a melancholy hum of nothingness
no purpose for anything
not even mother nature
she begins to weep
water falling down from above is the woman’s tears
what we call rain is sorrow
caused by the human species
inflicting the downpour
where have we gone wrong?
