Sands of Time

She was the glue that held pieces of my universe together

But my world was a desert.

And when the drought hit

The sun stared so hard it melted my sand to glass

And I ended up more fragile than I was before I needed the glue

This piece expresses the risk that comes with being vulnerable with people. When we have our walls up, we are safe, but lonely and incomplete. However, when we let people in, we start feeling like we had holes and gaps in us that are being filled. Nevertheless, there is always that incessant risk that the people we let in have power over us...enough power to destroy us if we let the wrong people in. Enjoy.
