Maybe I should get away
Maybe I should get away
Today.
Run across this busy street and catch the first bus I see.
Or maybe I should grab some liqour
Shoot it back and ponder
The days we had together in the sun
And the days I spent alone.
I’ll probably just go home though.
Grab some vegetables and eat too much
Before bed.
I really don’t mind the warmth of my wood floors and the sounds of laundry all night long.
They beat on the drums of my ears so that I don’t have to think of you.
But I do.
When I sleep.
The only time I don’t have control of where I go and what I do.
It could be worse.
