Mothers Day

I lost my mum when I was 6!
I was a careless lad,
For at this age I did not realise just what I had.
It strikes me strange to have one day each year to bring to mind.
This wonderous woman we all have whose gift creates our kind.
So please, I urge you if you have your mother still to hand.
Think on!  Rejoice. For every day you have it will be grand.

For me it’s said that she looks down still watching what I do.
And trust me I am going to be in trouble if it’s true.
When all is said and done if there is more to this life here.
I’ll meet my own and sure as shot she’ll clip me round the ear!
