Fight to Keep it Bright
Our rights as a nation and our people
were threatened and this I must say.
This tragic thing happened on the month
of September 2001 and eleventh day.
We can not and will not let this pass for
we will protect that which is ours.
God has given us our rights just as sure
as He placed, in Heaven, the stars.
My heart is saddened for those who lost
someone and the loss of their love.
It helps me to think God is now with them
in the place He prepared above.
So many were taken from us of which
we can only remember and love.
Even the ones that tried to rescue others
were taken as death rained from above.
There were so many that gave their all
to save those lost and scattered.
They did it not to be recognized but out
of love and nothing else mattered.
Our Nation has been drawn closer together
For many more call on God and pray.
I believe we would not be in this position
if we hadn’t made God as yesterday.
We have forgotten God in our Nation
and took prayer out of school.
It may have not been of such magnitude
if we hadn’t forgotten the golden rule.
It seems our leaders only remember God
when they are in predicaments.
I think this is a great warning to us and
not just a bad coincidence.
We have forgotten God in all we do and
placed Him outside our life.
If He is forgotten even for a moment,
We will live with much strife.
We can learn that God is in everything
good that we say and do.
Why have we forgotten that God sent
His Son to die for me and you.
Do not as I do, it seems that is what our
Government is trying to say.
Only government can bow their heads and ask,
yet our kids in school can’t pray.
With the President we have now, prayer may
find it’s way back into our lives.
It will only if the people in power (we the people)
stop believing in all the lies.
In God we trust is on our coins, government
buildings and each currency bill.
It would be great if then as it should be
now would apply to those on the Hill.
Don’t take me wrong for I love the US
above all countries on earth.
I believe if God is let back in our lives
our Country would have more worth.
United we are but not “ One Nation Under
God with Liberty and Justice for All”.
If we were as these words say there is not
a force on earth to cause us to fall.
Some on the top floors lost all hope and chose
to hold hands and jump to their death.
I pray that forgive me God passed through
their lips just before their last breath.
I can hardly write these words for the tears
are welling up in each eye.
I know that it’s because of the building up
of sorrow for all those who did die.
We now are facing more deaths, both that
that of our enemies and our home land.
The blood of other innocent people in other
Nations may spill, if with us they stand.
I saw a picture of our Nation’s symbol, the
Eagle, with a tear in His eye.
It was above a picture of the towers, in and
around, where so many did die.
Tony Snow spoke on Fox News this morning
with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart.
He spoke of the couple that held hands & jumped,
and the Priest that died doing his part.
I feel the President will make the right decision
on what to do in return.
If we do nothing, our freedom goes up with
the smoke of our Flag that some burn.
The President said we were attacked for we’re
the brightest beacon for freedom in the world.
These words ring true with me for I see it
each time our Nation’s Flag is unfurled.
As he said, “ And no one will keep that light
from shinning”, only if fueled by God above.
We will do this with a firm hand by punishing
the guilty united under God’s love.
With what to do with the attack on our freedom,
we need to be guided by God’s light.
We will overcome this if we do it with the
Will of God and A Fight to Keep it Bright.
