Of all creatures, I love the ant most
Dark jewel of the corolla
Peasant, immigrant, champion
of evolution
who does not dwell in light
but conspires by pheromone
from her monarchy of tunnels
Soon, concrete and steel
will yield
soft mounds
will inherit the Earth
