Confliction

I’m dead to the world, but somehow i’m still breathing.
So confused, i’m wide awake and yet i’m still dreaming.
Infatuated with Darkness, and i don’t need a reason.
Within the womb of an Angel my father begot a Demon.

I try to keep the peace, to pacify the beast.
But i grow weary from the hunger, until i have to feast.
A fallen angel, with visions of redemption.
By my own deeds condemned, regardless of intentions.

But it’s hard to do right when reality is ruthless.
The world worships falsehood, their faith hollow and truthless.
Nobody wants a Savior, the people favor Judas.
Ambitious, i’m Caesar bound, so i keep my eye on Brutus.

With an open mind but a closed heart i will prevail.
'Cause only those you let inside are capable of betrayal.
Now i find myself repeating what Vegetius said before.
Let him who prays for peace, prepare himself for war.
