Birth of Life

The waves crash over the barnacle encrusted rocks and the white foam spills.

Crabs and small fish tangle in a battle for survival in each of the semi isolated pockets.

The air and water meld as one continuous source of life and are full of deep breaths for all.

Each are in pursuit of their own meaning of peaceful existence, whether as prey or as predator.

Birds hover over the seemingly unaware below and dive purposefully for sustenance.

The setting sun drags a curtain of shadow in an ascending daily closure upon mountains in the distance.

Twilight prevails across the lands where beauty has inspired life and life inspires beauty.

Hardships can be found in every manner of survival with the land as teacher of those life lessons.

The slow climb of terrain along the slopes of the mountains pulls strength and vigor out of all who try.

The face transforms into an icy wonderland of glacial solitude transcending life to the lifeless summit.

From here the boundaries of earth, ocean, cloud and sky are jostled together in a quilted mirage.

Like a window into the soul of the planet, the segments of bountiful crystal water adorn the ensemble.

Not truly transparent because Mother Earth does not want all her secrets to escape.

But if you do get close enough, or stare long enough, she will allow a small glimpse into her spirit.

As night falls the stars trickle first one by one, and then dozens upon dozens, into the sky.

They bounce playfully off the now turned mirror of the dark abyss blanket of seamless glass.

“Look and see from where we were born, we all come from stars; they watch us from beginning to end.”
