Only when my eyes are closed, I see light

moments of clarity make me weak

thoughts filled with confusion make me hold on

the sunrise, a horizon I fear to reach

the light of day means I can no longer dream

of the life that should have been

allow me to lay in the dark

when I wake I will only drown in a river of tears

crumble and fall as the autumn leaves

hopeful you hear my plea

emotion as endless as the oceans waves      

treading on the earth trying to find you, futile.

sooner than later

the moon and stars will come out

I will then seek solace

my world will once again fade to black

only laying in the dark, I see light
