blue light home

We are all, who never willingly took the stage
Blue light home, flashing yellow strobe
The world in between, on whose shame we lean
Flashes yellow and red, and spends their lives
Intruding time, we cannot fix
What they did, we can only say we’ve been home
Where have you been?
Dancing with the targets on our back, because our loveliness
Made the patrons mad.
Look at all the false citizens in the crowd,
No emperors none, but no clothes for the road
We on stage, dancing blue and gold,
They in the audience naked with the cameras twisting, told.
It will be cold, but they will stand and applaud nonetheless
By our grace, they are either intruders or guests
