Blurt

I once wrote this as part of a writing seminar exercise.
Ironically, I was struggling to find something to write about.

A symphony of the selfish thoughts float on my lingering mind.
Thoughts that were once so clever in my conscious,
now overpowered by the clatter and chatter of laughter and emotions
Far from mine.
Perhaps I was thinking of an emotion strung together in melodic harmony?
A sonnet of sopranos.
Jealousy.
Fear.
Rage.
Guilt.
Longing.
Notes pounding at the tip of my lungs, waiting for the conductor’s baton to summon
my true feelings.

Then it all blurts out.

More poems like this in my book.
