Wishing You Were Here

I drag my heavy feet as I slowly walk the halls
Wishing you were here to make me feel better.
Sometimes, when I don’t think, I go to our spot
And stop dead, staring at your ghost.
Maybe it’s because I’m so tired,
Or maybe it’s because I miss you so much,
But I always think it’s you, you’re really here.
And when I find out it’s not,
A frown glues to my face, and I trudge on
As the incredulous walk past.
