Grocery Store

There’s a house like the others
There’s couple, nothin’ special
Only to the outside eye

Oh but this couple
They found love in a grocery store
Back in 1948
They say look for the open door
They ask for nothing more
Than a best friend, that’s all they need

A house
A dog
2 kids
And a grandbaby on the way
Everyday’s a perfect day

They remember the the rainy days how they,
Fought and fought and fought again and the,
Words they wish they never said
But it’s alright now

As they lay down in their bed
Happy, content, cause they never fled

He looks at her and says one last thing
“Baby, remember back in that old grocery store
I knew it then and I know it now,
I’ll love you till my last breath but please know.
I’ve had the best of lives. I love you.”

There’s a house like the others
There’s couple, nothin’ special
Only to the outside eye
