Don't Hate
I just found out the other day,
that my ex-husband passed away
how quickly my heart turned cold as ice,
once again, I have no wonderful memories of him
The Lord spoke telling me,
“Don’t Hate”
He even said he will coach me along the way,
knowing that my ex can’t hurt me anymore
Drinking, getting drunk, causing confusion in our home
and yet, I loved him very much once
a mental abuser he was, I allowed this man
to take all my personality and dignity away
from me, just to keep peace in our home
As hard as it was, the Lord said to me,
“Don’t Hate”
I had to come out of my mortal body
into the marvelous light of Jesus Christ
just to find a kind word to say about him
Only because I once loved him very much,
and love carries no fear or hate.

It gets hard sometimes when other people mistreat us but no matter what, we have to learn how to forgive them. Not meaning we have to stay there and take the abuse, we have the right to leave them but we don't have the right to hate them. Why you ask and I ask that same question and my answer was because God forgives us for our short comings and so we must forgive others. Wow
