Xanadu

I'm trying out songs now.

Oh I went for a walk outside today
To see what’s on the other side
Of the door left ajar to let in all the gray
And keep out all the people who died.
I saw flags hung from the gleaming glass
And people hung from trees.
I guess that’s the life of greener grass
In utopian streets such as these.

If I keep my eyes closed, the problems don’t exist.
If I keep my eyes closed, the problems don’t exist.

If the moon never sets and the sun never rises
Then how can we learn how to make compromises?
The people are taking and their feet are all walking
But there ain’t nowhere to go.

It’s a perfect world, and it’s perfect living
That spreads 'round the false hope
That change is unneeded, but no one is giving
Examples to this misanthrope.
It’s easy to forget when the sky is so blue
That our freedoms suffer from a curtail,
Yet these streets and smiles treat the place like Xanadu!
Man, your world ain’t much different than jail!

If the moon never sets and the sun never rises
Then how can we learn how to make compromises?
The people are taking and their feet are all walking
But there ain’t nowhere to go.
