Sharing time

In memory of Mick Murray & Willie McDonnell from the first day I say them plough in 1962

Sharing time
I have lived in the contemplative
places
Where country fellows lean on gates
Or come with coring horse
Bedecked with traces
Reliving the word
And life equipped for sharing
At one with parable
Of sun soil and bird
Anticipating the early worm
When life is pouring plenty
Calling gulls
To the incongruous seascape
Flood
Of lathing furrows
Where is the Great Fisher of men
Who has taken these peaceful souls
To  places more radiant and less
Transient than these
