Leaves

A year goes by, it’s Autumn time
and the trees are letting go.
You deserted me like a leaf on a tree,
I hit the ground, not making a sound.

Winter’s calling, snow starts falling
and I get buried in the pain.
People pick me up but drop me down,
Oh when will the snow go away?

Spring’s cheerful while I’m tearful,
watching the tree get a new leaf.
I’m still on the ground, not making a sound.
Crying with disbelief.

Summer’s here, I’m in fear
completely annihilating to nothing.
I try to recover but I don’t succeed,
instead I crumple up and watch myself bleed.

(2013)

Half of it is non-fiction and then half of it is not. It reflects certain feelings that arose within the last year.
