You Told Me To Try Again
I had long abandoned this pen and paper
For reasons I hid from myself
Healing no longer followed
If anything the pain would dwell
You encouraged this action, in the hopes Time’s hand would sway
The darkness that clouded this paper, the tears that were kept at bay
Now there is no hiding, just thoughts and words revealed
Sadly, there is no more feeling, the numbness is more real
I thought these strokes would ignite something deep inside my soul
Sadly there is no more light. I feel deader, darker, and cold.
