One Albatross (Taken at Face Value)

Grandma, I just want some more pie,
Grandma, we never gonna say goodbye
You never gonna die, I’ll study all I need
And find a seed of you to plant and you’ll grow
And we’ll eat brownies as the winter outside forgets to blow
Waiting for a Summer of strawberry pie, OH my
Grandma you’ll never gonna die.

When college will be due I’ll let it roll
My cyber system will be so unbreakable,
And I’ll hack and expose that bully Troll
For all the pain he has caused
Especially for saying grandmas are forgettable
As everything in life, including us, going over to the box of dust
In a never ending senseless loop.

One afternoon as the Sakura trees blossomed all over campus
We crossed again, and I was so happy to recognize you
So lean and sharp tongued, I was one wild beast, You Melampus
Your wet peach so warm to the hand and flavorous in the mouth
Your body so tender your inside softer than the Capricorn south
We clicked, so glad I had found your interlaced self
Disrespectful for conventions, staying dumbly laughing, embraced.

Granny, I find out time’s a thief of dreams
Putting white hair, thicker, in my chest
All these years I’ve been doing bad and best
At night I awake and you remain, letting only my screams
And then a smile of certainty that we’ll meet tomorrow
If my tiredness allows you to surface over my sorrow

Grandma, your little man has his descendants,
Daughters, granddaughters
To whom a piece of pie was never given
To whom I gladly shall say goodbye,
Even if it will be for nothing of value
Strangers that robbed your blood
Impersonators of our treasures with their semblances
So you, their walking so you, their smiles so like you.

Grandma, there will never be anyone but you.
So important and unique, accepted at face value.

Our Albatross will be only one,
Always at sea, never caring for a mast
Never to see firm land, no bygone
Only the ocean, inscrutable and vast.
