Son

And so i kept walking on this dry path
With my arms hanging as though they were dislocated
And my belly hanging out of my shirt
Dragging my dehydrated feet
And my eyes glowing with poverty

The reality behind it being that
I ran out of water that seemed to give me life
And my dignity was stolen with lies
And when the world seemed to be mine
You blew it away and sucked the little woman in me

I carried him, i felt him and it was perfect
There was light in the dark
There was life where there was none
Precious gift that i wrapped around my soul
He was mine, but before i knew it...

He was no more.
