I Was Once A Guardian.

You’re the disaster
Drumming hopelessness into my dreams
I can’t stray away from your gripping power
Hour by hour
You’re cutting the seams.

I once was a guardian to someone
I was praised for my gratifying hand
I was a champion, draped in glory.
I wore the gold, I rejected the bronze,
Now all I can say is sorry.

You have burrowed deeply into my world
It’s upside down
A squalor in my head
Begins.

I want to press stop
So I can live a little.
