Writing: La Grande Ourse

I see you as the sunlight at midnight
And a dream after infinity,
And I placed la Grande Ourse on your headband
And you kept on like nothing;
I sweetened the sea water for when you were thirsty
I rented you a waning room on the moon,
And like a graceful loser I searched in bed
For the things that love had not resolved.
And how it hurts that you’re so far
Sleeping here on a strange bed;
How it hurts, such distance,
Even though I dream of you breathing
And you’re thousands of kilometers away
And it hurts loving you far,
Pretending that everything will be perfect
While it hurts being alive
Trying to locate
What long after has gone...
I invented a pruner because of your flowers,
I invented alchemy against Utopia,
And I have come to confuse it with tenderness
The pity with which I dream of you;
How sad is assuming pain,
pathetic to believe in forgiveness
was what I pray for it to the miracle angels
so that they would make you wake up in love.

How it hurts that you’re so far
How it hurts...
