I have born witness to countless struggles.

I know of the power of hope and the will to live.

And I have seen agony in the absence of it.

I have been embraced, trusted, and cursed.

I have felt joy, gratitude, and disgust.

I have cheered victories and been moved to tears.

I am humbled every day by true courage.

And it is my privilege to be a social worker.
