Society today

Baggy jumpers and bangles
Is this really the way?
Forever hiding the scars that you did
Is this really what I have to pay?
You thought there was nothing wrong
You thought it was just the cat
But you’re wrong
Her pride, where’s that at?

Her life but not always your choices
Pressured into this
Is there a way this can be sorted?
Because it seems to be this world we live in today

Because you see them yourself
Smoking drugs and getting high
Why is this such a buzz?
Why? Why? Why?

Broken families and children hurting
Cuts are gashing wrists are flowing
But the next step?
When they find the rope and kick the chair
Swallow the tablets
Or get in the tub to apparently wash their hair

What happens then?
Will the world change?
I think not
It’s just another day.

So what is happening with this cruel world
Children hurting
Because no ones committed other than themselves
The school does nothing about this problem
Unless it effects there grades or reputation
“I’m sorry to tell you that your daughters gone
Sign here so her locker will be gone”
See they don’t care
They didn’t say anything about the “little scratch”
Because they decided to believe it was just the cat
How stupid can you be?
Do you want to watch us bleed?
But is this the society we live in today
Because it’s distorted
And no one sees the pain
All they see it as is a game
And they don’t understand why we’re hurting

Is it us? We start to question
No darling, it’s the ground us humans have to walk on.
