Tears are Raindrops

Tears are raindrops.
As I weep skies seem to darken.
Clouds well as my eyes blur
Like raindrops on cement they fade into my pillow.
The thunder roars and so do my wails
Lightning flashes like pain through my heart
Pounding hail throbs with my head.
… All seems to calm and so do I
A hiccup or two
A couple of raindrops empty the clouds along with my tear bag.
Then soft winds dry the streets and love dries my face.

(2014)

I had to write a poem for English class comparing emotion to an act of nature. I had to begin it with a metaphor. When I turned it in my teacher said it was so good that she wanted me to email it to her so she could put it in the school year book. my paper also had an A+ on it :)
